Welcome back parents, students and staff of Henry J. Kaiser High School!

It’s a great time to be a Cat! I hope you had a wonderful, safe, fun-filled summer. Now, it’s time to “get after” that life milestone goal of GRADUATION from the best high school!

Our outstanding ASB adopted a motivating and appropriate theme to guide us all this year—We are the Cats! It’s pretty clear—we need all Cats to set personal expectations high and strive to be the best you can be! I strongly encourage each and every one of you to find your niche at Kaiser—Get involved and show that CAT PRIDE in everything you undertake! Your high school years are as fun as you decide! Make up your mind to make this year your best yet!

This is a historic year at Kaiser and I am excited to enter my sixth year as Principal. It is a privilege to lead this learning community during a time of incredible change and tremendous possibilities. Our challenge is to embrace the future of the 21st century and assure that our students are properly prepared to become leaders in this exciting new world. Our building goals will be to provide the academic rigor necessary for our continued success, but we also strive to emphasize character education and good citizenship, a high level of personalization in every aspect of a student's high school experience and a proud recognition for individual and group accomplishments! We are instituting the Common Core Curriculum, aimed at increasing college & career readiness of every single student. Your teachers, counselors, and administrators care very much for each of you, and we know you can achieve everything you envision for yourself and more! We stand ready to support you, but we expect you to strive for greatness…Expect more of yourself as a student than you ever have-- work hard, ask for help, attend regularly, and you will be amazed at the results. Mostly, do everything you do at Kaiser High School with PASSION. That passion will lift and inspire your fellow Cats to ensure Kaiser is…#1!!

Parents, we invite you to get involved! We need your support as we work very hard to prepare your kids for adult life. Begin by attending our Back to School Night on Thursday, August 14th from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

What an outstanding year looms ahead, Cats! We can’t wait to get started!

My best,

Terry Abernathy-Proud Principal
