Join us September 3, 2010. Students who attend our first home football game using their ASB card will receive a free AB Miller Rebel Nation Tee Shirt. If you still need a card you can purchase one at the home game for $25.00. That works out to be the same price for attending our home football games and one basketball game.
Plus you get a free tee shirt…..Come support your Rebel football team and wear your rebel pride.

As part of our transformation at AB Miller we have planned after school activities that are free to our students each month. Today is our first Free After School Movie ! We want our school to be an option for students in planning their social lives….including athletic contests, movies, dances and BBQ’s. We hope by offering these activities we are providing affordable and safe options for our students and their families. If you have suggestions for activities we could provide, please email me….we are in need of idea.

We are so happy to announce the arrival of our new English Language Arts textbooks. AB Miller students and teachers are afforded the opportunity for new ELA textbooks this year. Please ask your student to show you both their literature text as well as a supplemental book to support grammar. These new texts offer much assistance for the high school exit exam as well as new selections of modern literature. In addition there is a web link for students and families to assist in meeting classroom learning goals. Please take a look at what there is to offer with this wonderful new adoption.

It’s been a great first week of school and we are glad to have everyone back on campus. It’s far too quiet around here in the summer for my taste.
It truly is good to see our students back on campus. It always amazes me how much they change over the summer. Our football team front line seems to have grown 3” and 20 pounds each -- those summer works outs must have paid off.
Also a special thank you to our ASB, Link Crew and Peer Leaders; you all have done a fabulous job greeting and welcoming our new students. Thank you for all your work.

Make sure you are ready for our first day of school tomorrow morning. Our classes start promptly at 7:30 am….arrive to campus by 7:15 am. Grab a breakfast in the café’, find your first period class and meet up with your friends. We’ve been working all summer to prepare for student’s arrival and excited to get started.

FRESHMEN….your orientation to A B Miller is this week, Thursday, August 5. A-L begins at 9 am and M-Z begins at noon. Come see your school, find your classrooms, meet other students, get your books and join us to kick off a great year.

Many of you have emailed and asked….When are you open in the summer?
We are open with reduced staff all summer long. Typically from 7:00 am until 3:30 pm. For the next two weeks there are normally at least two administrators, the registrar, and several clerical staff on site.
If you stop by to see if someone is available we will do our best to help you although we may have to schedule an appointment for specific assistance.
If you come in and it looks a little chaotic, please excuse our mess……we are rearranging, cleaning and preparing for students to return on August 9th.

Congratulations to nearly 1,800 students who completed summer school. You and your teachers have worked hard for 6 weeks this summer and we are very proud of you. Farewell to our students from Summit, Citrus and Birch; we enjoyed meeting you this summer.

A B Miller will be returning to a “Miller Only” hat policy beginning on August 1, 2010. This change will align the A B Miller policy with other high schools in the district. Students will be permitted to wear any AB Miller team or club hat as well as any solid Red, White, Black or Gray hat. No other logos will be permitted.
