Dear Randall Pepper Parents,
Summer vacation provides a time for rest and relaxation. I hope you are rejuvenated and ready for the start of a new year at Randall-Pepper. When our students return to school on Monday, August 8, 2011, we will have a great opportunity to make a difference in their lives.
I would like to welcome parents and the community to get involved in our school program through our advisory groups. Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) training workshops, family events and classroom volunteer program. Together we know we can make a difference in the lives of our students and help them reach their potential and succeed academically. Some ways you can become more involved in your child’s educational program are listed below:
- Sending your child to school every day on time (8:30 am)
- Participating in Parent-Teacher Conferences, Open House, SSC and ELAC Meetings
- Signing and agreeing to support the Home-School-Compact/and SES (FREE) Tutoring
(During this budget crisis, we really need your support more than ever)
- Adhering to school rules, procedures and policies at all time
- Review your child’s homework, listen, and read with your child each evening
- Join the Parent-Teacher Association(PTA) and volunteer when possible –
Joining the Randall Pepper team this year are: Miroslava Burciaga, and Nancy Temples, 2nd grade teachers. Mrs. Nicki Mora will be on a split contract with Mrs. Emily Votruba. A few of our current teachers had moved grade levels. I will require students to dress appropriately for success and to learn. We are a peace builder school and all the students will be reminded to be responsible, be respectful, do their best, aim for excellence, and keep a positive attitude. I will be monitoring student’s behavior, and bullying will NOT be tolerated.
Please note the following meeting dates/times:
- Friday, August, 2011 (1:00-2:00 pm) Kindergarten Parent-Orientation – Cafeteria
- Thursday, August 25, 2011 (5:45-7:00 pm) Back-to-School Night – Cafeteria
The administrators, faculty and staff are pleased to be a part of the Randall-Pepper Community. We are proud to serve you and your children, and look forward to helping them to achieve grade level standards in 2011-2012 school year
Yours truly,
Sylvia F. Rivera
