Dear Juniper Families,
WELCOME to No Excuse University at Juniper Elementary. The staff and I look forward to working with you and your children this school year. We strive to instill the academic, professional and character skills needed for Juniper alumni to be successful in middle school, high school, college and the competitive world beyond.
While your child is at Juniper Elementary they will learn how to prepare for their path to college. Elementary school teachers have an enormous responsibility since the early years are critical to every child’s future. However, the job of helping every student succeed is too big for teachers to accomplish alone. Parents play a major role is helping their student each the maximum of his or her potential. Research in the area of child development points out that most of a child’s intellectual development takes place before he or she enters a formal classroom. This means that children spend a great deal of time with their first teachers, their parents. Indeed as parents, your involvement in your child’s learning experiences will have much to do with how well your child succeeds in school and in later life. By working together, I believe we can all help your child become the best person possible socially, emotionally and scholastically.
As you read through our Parent Handbook (Click here for Spanish), you will learn about the expectations we have for all students of the No Excuses University at Juniper. I promise that you will be successful if you remember these two words, No Excuses. “No Excuses” is not just our motto it is our commitment as students, parents, and teachers to do whatever it takes to be successful in school.
