Anne-Marie Cabrales, Principal

Thank you to all of our families for your patience as we transitioned to a fully closed campus to ensure the safety of our students and staff.  Change is never easy! We will be adding an additional exit gate for dismissal within the next two weeks to help alleaviate some of the congestion at the end of the day.  A new crosswalk will be added in the southeast parking lot, as well as signs to help with the flow of traffic.  We will continue to provide you with updates as we enter the second half of the year. Please make sure and check our events calendar for important upcoming dates!

Recognitions for the Month of March

Austin Larson-Teague
Student of the Month - March
Austin Larson-Teague set his sights on the prize of learning all he could during his final year at Dorothy Grant Elementary School. He has been giving 110% in the classroom and at home, resulting in big gains during the first half of the year. What kind of gains? Austin has increased his reading level by two grade levels, he has logged over 30 hours on Lexia, and has increased his MAPS test scores in every area by at least 6 points. Austin entered this year determined to make a difference and what a difference he has made!
Sayra Fisher
Staff Member of the Month - March
Mrs. Fisher has been working with the Fontana Unified School District as a classroom aide for approximately 3 years. She has been a valuable resource to the success of many of the students here at Dorothy Grant. Mrs. Fisher helps provide a welcoming environment and always takes that extra step when needed. The students have a high level of admiration for Mrs. Fisher as she is a true example of kindness, compassion, and respect. Mrs. Fisher’s hard work and dedication to our students is greatly appreciated!
Mrs. Lemus
Parent of the Month - March
Mrs. Lemus has three children, two attending Dorothy Grant Elementary! She has been married to a wonderful, supportive husband for 17 years. She has been a member of Dorothy Grant’s ELAC committee for the past three years and is serving this year as the Vice President. Her favorite color is light brown and she loves In-N-Out burgers. She can usually be found on our campus daily volunteering either in the classroom, in the library, or by supporting the office staff. Her goal in life is to see all three of her kids graduating from college.
